We have made it to October so that means it is officially Harvest Festival month!! The Donalsonville/Seminole County Harvest Festival is set for October 19th, 2024.
This year’s event kicks off with the Rejoice Run & Mom’s Mile at 8 am, followed by the annual parade at 11 pm. There is still time to enter the parade if you are interested! Our featured entertainer for this year is Jason Michael Carroll, which has been made possible thanks to a project grant from Georgia Council for the Arts, and many local sponsors.
We will have a variety of food vendors, arts & craft vendors, info booths and more. We also will have our children’s area, which includes bouncy houses, pony rides, face painting, games, a train and more!
Festival t-shirts (pictured on the left) can be purchased at the Chamber and the day of the event for $12 each. This year’s shirt features a vintage photo of a local farmer from the 1920s!
Also, don’t forget to submit your winning recipe into the Harvest Festival recipe contest, which is sponsored by Mims Farm, Seminole County Young Farmers, and the UGA Extension office. The recipe contest will be held on October 17th at the Extension office. Rules/entry forms can be picked up at the Chamber.
We have been hard at work preparing for this year’s event, and can’t wait for you all to enjoy it. If you have any questions or want to participate in any of the events, feel free to give us a call! Also, check out all of the many other local events coming up this fall, which are shown on the next page of this newsletter. Lots of exciting things are happening in Seminole County!
